New Creation Christian Fellowship - Wilmington Arms

The Tenth Annual Back To School Gospel Festival is set for Saturday, September 24th, 2011.  This awesome event will be hosted by Pastor Adrian Goodlow of New Creation Christian Fellowship. As always, it will feature fantastic gospel groups, a mime ministry, solo artists, and pastors from numerous churches. The back to school extravaganza is something New Creation Christian Fellowship has done every year, for the last 10 years in various locations.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Dr. Walter R Tucker Sr. Park in the city of Compton. The aim is to provide a "spiritual celebration with a taste of entertainment and fun.” In addition to inspirational music and mime ministries, the festival offers free backpacks, community housing assistance, games, a moon bounce, and several educational activities for the neighboring youth. A number of choirs performed, including Latter Rain of New Creation CF.

There is no cost for admission, and the event allowed neighboring pastors to not only give a testimony but offer words of encouragement in both English and Spanish.
Pastor Goodlow thanked the City of Compton for providing adequate personnel to safely ensure the safety of the festival attendees, and would like to offer a special thank you to City Attorney Mr. Cornwell. “Without his direct intervention, we would have not been successful. He helped us get the correct permits for the event, and directed us on what to do. He even met with us on his day off.”

"The response has been tremendous. It's been exceedingly abundantly--more than we can ever ask or imagine," he said.  It housed hundreds of Holy Ghost filled, praise dancing, music playing, Christians that truly lifted up the name of God. The program infused prayer, song, and dance to nurture and educated the community on the goodness of God.
Pastor Goodlow said he hopes the festival will provide a much-needed lift for community residents. "In a post-recession time, a lot of families are unable to take those big vacations or even travel to the amusement parks located around us," he said. "This provides a source of entertainment where you don't have to travel far to have a good time.
